Why Europa ?

EUROPA are exceptionally challenging to drive, with near 40bhp, six gears, four-wheel brakes and "sticky" rubber, the driver's talent and fitness is tested to the full. It is also one of the cheapest classes to compete in and a full seasons racing can be done on a minimal budget. Unlike most other classes competitors do not have to buy the latest trick parts and engine mod's or constantly fit new slicks to stay competitive.

EUROPA handle similar to a 100cc outfit with a straight line performance that will out run any 100cc kart. Typical performance figures are 0-60 in 3.5 seconds then back to a stop in 1.5 !!!! 100+MPH top speeds on long straights are the norm. A hand operated clutch is used just for standing starts, once rolling clutch-less shifts can be made through the sequential gearbox. Properly maintained the performance of all Europa outfits is virtually identical, enabling the best driver to win the race.

EUROPA maintenance is minimal; the engine should be capable of up to 10 race meetings without a service. An annual full service and an intermediate replacement piston is the usual requirement.

EUROPA are designed for close competitive racing where tuning is outlawed and minimal adjustments are the class criteria. The engines are fully sealed to prevent temptation of tampering with the ports etc...., this keeps the running cost down and places the emphasis on the drivers ability. The racing regulations have been drafted specifically to create a "level playing field" and give all an equal chance of winning. The engine is run in it's standard form within it's design specifications, which helps to prolong it's performance. Europa service agents are authorised to break the seals for maintenance. refitting a new MSA seal before returning it to the customer.

EUROPA are fitted with an electric starter - no more pushing !! just push the green button and away you go. Should you spin out and stall, you can quickly restart and get back on the track with the minimum of lost time.

EUROPA race on "one make" control tyres. Following the true budget racing theme the slicks have been carefully selected to give the best possible grip with exceptional durability, they last for several outings.

EUROPA have chassis and engine serial numbers that we keep registered to the owner. They then receive free copies of our regular publication "EUROPA KART NEWS" which will keep them up to date with race reports, championship positions, future meetings and the latest "Tips & Tweeks".

EUROPA competitors share camaraderie not found in any other class, other drivers will help even the most inexperienced novice to race safely and without problems. Social activities such as group test days, family evenings out on race weekends and friendly help and advice are all aspects of the Europa class.
