Introduction.
The 125 Europa class endeavours to provide an economical
Introduction to gearbox karting with the controlled budget of a
‘one
make’ low maintenance class, complete with on-board electric
starter. The use of exotic parts is restricted and the chassis is
limited to an approved design. The
engines may only be used in their
original
standard form other than changes listed in these regulations they
shall be sealed to prevent any internal modifications being
made. The promoters reserve the right to alter these technical
regulations at short notice in respect of safety, fairness of
competition, economy and majority competitors wishes.
The kart
may only be raced with variations described within these
regulations, any changes that fall outside these regulations shall
be deemed illegal. |

D7.2.1 |
The Europa
class has two categories:
Europa A
is restricted to the MC Motori BAT-3ES engine fitted with an
electric starter.
Europa B
as previously listed in MSA Yearbook |

Chassis.
The only chassis permitted for use in this class is the Europa
125. This is a Top Kart VIPER manufactured to Europa
specification. CIK Homologation No. 292/02. The chassis will be
fitted with a EUROPA identification plate and serial number.
Adjustments to the chassis such as steering geometry (by fitting
adjusters), front & rear track, the use of optional torsion bars
(where homologated) etc. may be made, but at all times must comply
with the Europa specification and general karting regulations. It
is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that his chassis
remains legal; failure to comply may result in the driver being
excluded from the meeting and forfeiting championship points. The
kart must be raced complete with CIK style bodywork, the original
seat may be changed to any short-circuit upright type and up to
two additional rear seat stays may be added. Optional
Europa/TopKart 40 x 106mm extended front hubs are permitted. Only
the original equipment chassis components or previously approved
Europa class racing components may be used unless specifically
permitted by these regulations. Additional instrumentation
or data logging devices may be optionally used. |

Engine.
The only engine permitted is the MC Motori Bat-3ES to Europa
specification, fitted with the original electric starter. For
identification all Europa engines will be stamped RPM alongside
the Serial Number. The engine may not be machined or modified from
the form it was in when it was delivered if it is not specifically
stated. The engine must be used complete with all the ancillaries
supplied including the electric starter and battery. The engine
shall be sealed between barrel and crankcase, an engine that does
not carry a regulation seal is deemed illegal. Only
authorised
service agents will be issued with these seals for fitting after
maintenance of the engine. A logbook will be supplied with each
engine indicating the engine serial number; it will show the
number of the current seal fitted and the service agent
responsible. It is the competitor’s responsibility to look after
this logbook, ensure the service agent updates it and ensure that
his engine remains legal. This logbook must be taken to all Europa
race meetings and if requested it must be presented to a race
official, failure to provide this book may result in
disqualification from the meeting and confiscation of the engine
until it is presented. If an engine is found to have illegal
modifications then that engine will have its logbook permanently
marked to this effect, the competitor will be excluded from the
meeting and forfeit all point accumulated in any Europa
championship. The service agent who last sealed the illegal engine
may be removed from the
authorised
list. A competitor must not break the engine seal and should an
engine be presented for service with a broken or tampered seal it
must be fully dismantled, inspected and measured to establish its
total conformity with the Europa specification before it may be
re-sealed, the owner shall be liable for the costs involved. Only
original equipment internal engine parts from RPM Motorsport may
be fitted during repair or service. The cylinder head may be
removed by the competitor for internal inspection only if
necessary, it is their responsibility to ensure it is not modified
in any way and is fitted correctly. |

for this specific carburettor. The original unmodified reed
valves, reed block, spacer and gaskets must be used. A CIK
approved intake silencer box must be fitted to the
carburettor
